Most children are placed into foster care due to neglect or sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, all circumstances beyond their control. Many of these children are placed in resource homes outside their county of origin due to a lack of resource homes. A part of our mission is to ensure the children have a local resource home within their county so there is less interruption to their lives.
Keeping children local allows them to remain in the schools they are currently attending and maintain their group of friends and teachers. This leaves some familiarity in their lives and stabilizes their educational progress.
